Ali Maher, coach of Cleopatra, expressed his distress due to what he described as wasting Al -Ahly players for the time in the two teams match that was held on Tuesday afternoon.
Al -Ahly won at the expense of Ceramica with a clean goal scored by Ashraf Benchriki in the sixth round of the competition for the title in the league championship.
Maher said in the press conference after the match: “I do not want to talk about arbitration and everything I wish to give the referee to each team its right,” Maher said in the press conference after the match.
He continued, “We did not object to the referee because of the extra time, but it is not permissible for players in Al -Ahly or Zamalek the time, we did not play in the second half today more than 20 minutes.”
Regarding the opportunities that were provided to his team against Al -Ahly, “we took control of the match, and we had 8 dangerous teams on Al -Ahly’s goal.”
He added: “The players presented everything in the match, but we were lost, and we tied against Zamalek, even though we were not the best, may God want Al -Ahly to win.”
He talked about the dangerous opportunity that his South African attacker, Fakhri Lakay, had to say: “I will not blame Lakay, he missed an easy opportunity in front of Al -Ahly’s goal, but an important player remains and we rely on him to build the game.”
He continued, “Lakai felt a stress after the effort he made and the many collisions in the match, and therefore I was afraid of him and decided to replace it, and all my changes were offensive.”
He concluded, “He adheres to my play in a way, and this is the personality of the team, and the player when he sees the technical staff’s insistence on the way of playing, he believes it, we assumed responsibility in a difficult time, and we succeeded in winning a number of points to reserve our seat in the title of competition for the title.”
Al -Ahly raised its score to 52 points in the lead to expand the difference with Pyramids to 5 points before the latter faced the Zamalek team shortly.
As for Ceramica Cleopatra, its score is freezed at 31 points in the sixth place of the table.
