The International Atomic Energy Agency will hold an “emergency meeting” at its headquarters in Vienna on Monday, following the American strikes that targeted three Iranian nuclear sites.

“Due to the situation in Iran, I call for an emergency meeting of the Conservative Council tomorrow,” said Rafael Grossi, general manager of the agency, published on X.

The United States targeted three nuclear sites, including Fordo, which is dedicated to uranium enrichment, which is in the depth of the mountains, with a declared goal of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb, which denies Tehran to seek.

“There are clear indications of effects,” Grusi said on the American news network, “CNN”, based on satellite images and to his “deep knowledge” of the Fordo site, which is being inspected regularly by the agency’s employees.

He added: “But with regard to assessing the extent of underground damage, we cannot confirm that, it may be a grave but huge. But no one, neither we nor others, can determine its size,” expressing his hope that the agency inspectors can return to the site as soon as possible.

Fordo has a great “protection”, and it is also equipped with “independent energy sources, and perhaps even with reserve generators,” according to Grussia, who added: “Therefore, we cannot automatically assume that the lack of external energy may be harmful” to the centrifugal devices in the place.

With regard to the Natanz site, which was also targeted by Israeli and American strikes, the situation is different, because the part on the roof has been destroyed “clearly.”

As for the installations under the ground, where the centrifuges, “they were greatly damaged by the common effect of the lack of external energy supplies due to the attacks” and the effect of the strikes themselves.

The same applies to the Isfahan facility, “which has been damaged and has been attacked for several days,” as several buildings belonging to it were affected.

Nevertheless, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced in a statement that no increase in the level of radiation after the American strikes.
