Bethlehem Ma’an- Candidate Zahran Mamdani, a supporter of the Palestinians and a 33-year-old member of Parliament, won the preliminary elections of the Democratic Party for the New York Municipality elections, in a result that his main rival, former state governor Andrew Como acknowledged.
Although the sorting of the votes was still ongoing, Komo admitted his defeat, saying to his supporters, “Tonight was our night … (Zahran Mamdani) won,” according to the agency “Agence France Presse”.
The permit came, while the results showed that more than 90% of the votes were sorted, that the Muslim left candidate tops the race by more than 43% of the votes, compared to 36% for KoO.
