Niko Kovac, the coach of Borussia Dortmund, expressed his complete satisfaction after his team beat Monterrey 2-1, in the meeting that brought them together at dawn on Wednesday in the club’s club final for the Club World Cup final, so that the German team reserved its seat in the quarter-finals to face Real Madrid.
“This was our best run in the championship. I feel completely satisfied with what we presented in the first half; we were solved sharply, and we defended through the attack, and we practiced an advanced pressure on the opponent. Add to that we scored two goals and created two achievements for Serho (Gerasi), we could end the half with a comfortable progress with three goals or even four.”
He added: “In the second half, what was important was to fight with persistence and passion. It is true that the opponent captured the ball, but he did not make real chances.
The Croatian coach continued: “For us, and for the German ball as well, the qualification of two teams to the quarter -finals is a great thing.
Kovac concluded his speech by saying: “In football, you must first play 90 minutes. If we provide the performance that we appeared today, especially in the first half, we will have an opportunity to win.”
