Mascherano after the Orlando Quartet: I take full responsibility

Agencies / Javier Mascherano, Inter Miami coach, expressed his great grief and anxiety after the severe defeat 4-1 by Orlando City in the Florida derby, confirming his full responsibility in the absence of star Lionel Messi for the second consecutive match due to injury.

After the match, Mascherano said: “The first official is me and I take full responsibility. We have a long week to think about what happened. As a leader of this team, it hurts me to offer this level.” He added: “This match must represent a turning point, because when we relax, any team can defeat.”

He pointed out that “there is only one team on the field today, we did not make the required effort, as they outperformed us from the first minute to the end. I feel great pain and great anxiety.”

This is the first defeat of Inter Miami since mid -July in the league, and the first since Rodrigo de Ball joined, which increases the pressure on Mascherano and his players in the next stage.
