Today, Thursday, August 14, 2025, Egypt is witnessing the continuation of the very hot wave, which strikes most parts of the country, amid urgent warnings from the Meteorological Authority of direct exposure to sunlight.
The authority confirmed that Greater Cairo records today 42 degrees Celsius in the shade, while the temperature in the south of Upper Egypt reaches 49 degrees, in an atmosphere that it described as harsh and unusual at this time of the year.
The date of the hot wave is broken in Egypt
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority explained that the current wave will continue until Friday, with the gradual breakdown stage starting from Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The temperatures decrease significantly in most regions, reaching between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius, and in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt to 35-36 degrees Celsius, while in the south of the country ranged between 37 and 46 degrees Celsius.
Thunderstorms and navigation turmoil
The commission expected light rains that may be moderate and sometimes thunderstorm in areas of central and southern Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate and the southern Upper Egypt, explaining that the rains will be intermittently with the possibility of increasing their intensity locally.
It also warned of the disruption of maritime navigation in the Gulf of Suez, where the wind speed reaches 60 kilometers per hour and the waves height to three meters, while the Mediterranean remains moderate.
Warning .. Morning Shaboura blocks vision
The expectations of the Meteorological Authority in Egypt indicated the formation of a waterbed from four to eight in the morning on the roads leading to and from the north of the country to Greater Cairo, which may be dense on the northeastern coasts and the cities of the canal, which requires caution while driving.
Meteorological advice in hot weather
Meteorology called for caution, lack of direct exposure to the sun, especially during peak times, a lot of drinking water and cold fluids, and wearing cotton and loose clothes, with a hat or head covering when going out during the day.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority stressed that adhering to these instructions reduces the risks of exposure to heat stress during this unprecedented wave.
