Bethlehem Ma’an- The “Walla” website stated that the assassination of Mohamed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, known as “Abu Ibrahim”, began more than six months ago.

The operation was prepared with a joint initiative between the head of the Shin Bet Operations Department and the commander of the southern region, Yaron Fenkelman.

According to the well -known reports, the Israeli Air Force used dozens of ammunition, including bombs that are able to penetrate the hideout. The attack was carried out, along the lines of what was implemented in the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah in the southern suburb of Beirut: an attack on all entrances and exits at the entrances to the complex underground, with the aim of preventing escaping after the attack, if Al -Sinwar can escape.

According to the military establishment, Al -Sinwar was hiding in an underground complex that includes a meeting room and a leadership center, which was built under the European Hospital in the Khan Yunis area. Intelligence information was accurate, but the targeted counter -procedures were postponed twice due to operational conditions. In the wake of additional information collected by the Shin Bet, the order was issued to carry out the operation, and gave the leadership of the region in Sidirut the green light to carry out the operation

A military source told the Israeli intelligence site that the attack was “accurate and strong”, and a direct injury was recorded, especially in the underground complex. He said that the hospital itself “almost was almost damaged.”

The same source pointed out that the choice of the site of the operation was not a coincidence, but rather a complex of great importance to Hamas, and it is located under a sensitive civil facility.

So far, it is not clear whether the Sinwar has been assassinated, and it is not known if other senior officials have. But the occupation army is estimated that if it is eliminated, then this would “change the rules of the game”, as Al -Sinwar is considered a major obstacle to negotiations in order to return the kidnappers.

In a joint statement, the Israeli occupation army and the “Shin Bet” apparatus announced that they had carried out a “concentrated” raid targeting what they described as a “command and control complex” of Hamas, who said that it was built in an underground infrastructure under the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Yunis.

The Israeli Army Radio stated that the attack came within the framework of what it described as a “rare opportunity” to try to assassinate Muhammad Al -Sinwar, the brother of the former leader of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Al -Sinwar. According to reports, the results of the operation are still unknown.

Israeli security sources said that the estimates indicate that Muhammad al -Sinwar was inside the complex when carrying out the attack, and that the raid “caused great destruction in the place’s infrastructure”, and that “if Sinwar is actually present, it is unlikely to have survived.”
