Paris Paris Laurent Nunez said on Friday that 5,400 policemen will be deployed in the capital in preparation for the UEFA Champions League final tomorrow, Saturday, between Paris Saint -Germain and Inter Milan.
Although the match will be held in Munich, Saint -Germain’s victory is expected to ignite the celebrations in the city to which the club belongs, which may develop into riots.
In light of the accident that occurred in Liverpool earlier this week, when a fans car ran over, Nunez said in an interview with the French channel “CE” that the traffic around the Arc de Triomphe – one of the most famous landmarks in the city – would be closed from tomorrow’s back, with the closed the Champs -Elysées and the nearby streets in that evening.
Paris Saint -Germain won Arsenal earlier this month, after which he qualified for the final, a night of disturbances in Paris, as 47 people were arrested and three others were injured after a car hit them.
“As of six o’clock in the evening (16:00 GMT) from tomorrow, traffic in the Champs -Elysées and the surrounding streets will stop,” Nunez said.
He added that there are individuals who only come to commit sabotage and looting, indicating that “a method we undoubtedly work to eliminate it systematically, and this will be the case also tomorrow.”
He continued, “We will be very firm … as soon as there are damages or attacks on the security forces, so we will enter.”
