Veteran Spanish defender Sergio Ramos kidnapped the spotlight in the match of his Mexican team against Inter Milan, at the beginning of the two teams’ participation in the expanded version of the 2025 Club World Cup.
Ramos, 39, scored the goal of Monterei in the 25th minute with an elaborate header after a wonderful upgrading, beating all Inter Milan defenders, before the latter realized the equalizer in the 42nd minute across the Argentine Latuarro Martinez.
Unlike the goal, Ramos starred in a remarkable way during the match and played the defensive role completely, to win the man of the match, surpassing all the stars of the two teams.
Ramos has become the largest player to score a goal in the history of the Club World Cup, at the age of 39, two months and 18 days.
The former Real Madrid captain surpassed the Argentine star Javier Zanetti, who was holding the record formerly after he was 37 years old and 127 days.
The third and fourth Argintinian are among the two other, Nicholas Outamamde (37 years and 125 days) and Angel de Maria (37 years and 123 days), while the French Karim Benzema comes in fifth place (35 years and 361 days).
