Chelsea coach Enzo Marisca expressed his anger at what happened during the Benfica confrontation in the price of the Club World Cup final.
The match stopped in the 85th minute with Chelsea’s progress with a goal without a warning about a possible storm, and after resuming the match after nearly two hours, it tied Benfica and was resorted to two additional halves.
“What is happening is a joke, this is never possible, stopping a match for two hours, this is not football, and this is unacceptable in our game,” Chelsea coach Enzo Marisca said after the match.
He stressed, “I understand the stoppage for security reasons, but perhaps this is not the right place to play football matches. It is not logical to stop a match for two hours.”
“There were some players laughing, eating food and sitting on their phones while stopping. Football is no longer as they were after two hours, so it is not normal not to receive any opportunity for 85 minutes and when we return after that we receive opportunities.”
“When six or seven games stop in the same way, this means that there is a problem.”
He continued, “It is very proud of the performance of the players, and for me the performance stopped at the 85th minute, while a new match started after returning after nearly two hours and it was not easy.”
“We are now between the first eight teams in the Club World Cup, and we are very happy with that.”
Chelsea faces Palmeiras at 4 dawn next Saturday in the quarter -finals.
