The artist Wafaa Amer responded quickly, and she described Marwa as “the disgrace”, stressing that what she does is only a campaign of distortion against public figures, demanding immediate legal move. Indeed, the legal authorities moved after a number of lawyers submitted formal communications, accusing Marwa of raising sedition, publishing false news, and defaming public figures without evidence.

In a remarkable development, security sources announced that Marwa was arrested, after she was summoned to investigate, as she was charged with publishing rumors, inciting hatred, distorting reputation, and broadcasting unrealistic news that offends public order. It was seized in a popular neighborhood in Giza Governorate, and was taken to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigations.
The artist Iman Al -Toukhi, whose name was thrown into the case, denied everything that was reported, and confirmed that she had never married, and she did not have any relationship with any links to the late president. She said in previous statements that she retired from art of her own will, and that everything that is rumored about is pure imagination and slander.
The issue of Marwa, despite its ongoing displacement, reflects a dark aspect of the world of communication sites, where unknown people can make dangerous allegations, affecting public figures, without any accountability or sergeant.
